Thank you for the many tips on job search, application and interviews. Thank you for working on my resume and for coaching me on self-esteem. I have learnt that it’s possible to set and achieve one’s goals in life (short term/ long term). I remember there was a time you asked me to have all my goals written down and to think of anything that would excite me. I prepared a very long list, improving the face of our unfinished home was on that list. I sincerely got encouraged by the SMART goal exercise and I started planting flowers, every time I visited Lavington I would leave with a small bag of flowers, this began after the session on Locus of Control. Now home has a new face with the recent rains, the flowers are looking beautiful. The new environment is communicating a lot to me that the power is in my hands and it’s me who can control what’s happening in my life and that it’s possible to achieve any set goals in life. Your gardener also gave me a few bamboo sticks and they are doing pretty well.

Thank you so much Harun for all the life lessons, they are so many that I can’t list all of them here but please allow me to mention this; the books and stories you shared with me were very inspiring and the lessons drawn from them will forever be of great help to me. I learnt a lot from Abraham Lincoln’s story, the eaglet that lived among the chicks, Jimmy who was busy chasing somebody else’s dreams/ goals and the story of inmates’ life at the concentration camp where one was able to find a true meaning in the middle of extreme difficult time. If you can remember, the idea of a manufacturing plant was developed after the latter story when I started to know my true self- after 36 years of existence.

The program gave me the opportunity to understand who I am, where I am and to answer myself how I got to where I am, to define and describe where I want to be and how to get there. Identifying and knowing my true purpose in life has been very fulfilling. I have regained more energy to push to where I want to be from the discovery of my vision, mission and values in life. The program has been a great eye opener and you gave it to me just at the right time when I was almost reaching a dead-end in life. As a banker, I arrive at work by seven in the morning then have my duties done, eat mandazi and chapatti, later prepare daily reports and close the branch and dash home. It’s a dangerous life of a comfort zone and a ‘deathbed’ because I live a life without a purpose and it’s the same case for many of my colleagues who are and those outside the banking industry.

Yesterday evening, the story of the “eaglet that lived among the chicks” manifested in my life, I received an email from my former project supervisor who told me that my work was attracting many researchers who wanted to investigate on the same topic and he was asking me to have the same paper restructured for publication in the research journal (free of charge) before other people can earn credit on my ideas.

I want to thank you for saving my future, this may not be visible to you but I can feel a big development and growth inside me. it may be late but it’s said that God’s time is always the best, you have made me discover who I am, my real purpose in life and how to get to that point, thank you too for giving me lessons on how to tackle and deal with my greatest fear and biggest enemy in my personal development.
